Saab B17

One of the highlights of last weekends Duxford show was the B17. Normally this would mean Flying Fortress Sally B but this time it was the Saab B17 of the Swedish Air Force Museum, making its first appearance at Duxford for 19 years. It put on a very spirited display for a WWII dive bomber so this is a post dedictaed to the aircraft.

  1. Very interesting - but what an odd gear retraction shroud - Marcus

    1. I have heard that the shroud was meant to double as an air brake when it was dive bombing. Don't know how well it worked though.
