Swiftly to Wales
This Supermarine Swift, one of only two FR5 variants to survive, is being transferred from where I last saw it at Newark in 2016 to the growing South Wales Aviation Museum.
I heard the owner had come to the end of the loan period and now its off to Wales again under-cover and safe. Seen one at RAF Scampton HHA facility supposed to being made airworthy by unknowns which as I understand has moved south. Viewed the one in the RAFM at Hendon and of course this one. Apparently they were not brilliant and the Hunter was better in service.

ReplyDeleteYes, I gather Hawker had the upper hand over Supermarine in this instance.
