Developed in the early 1930s as a fighter and ground attack aircraft it was outclassed by the commencement of WWII and saw service as an advanced trainer. This is a 1/72 scale Hasegawa kit that is pretty undemanding to build. Age had caught up with the decals so I found an alternative scheme and dived in to the spares box.
Interesting that the decals only last so long. Do you think about that when you scanning the stalls at events looking at clearly old kits ?
ReplyDeleteI mainly buy from a well known auction site but, yes, I have to keep it in mind.I have a good selection of roundels, letters, Luftwaffe crosses etc but US navy jets in particular can be quite colourful so I need to be wary. In part it depends where stuff has been stored but there's a good chance it's in a cold attic and decals go brittle and crack so can dissolve in to lots of small pieces in water! All adds to the fun!
