RAF Grangemouth

I was in
Grangemouth a few days ago and there is an impressive memorial area on the edge of the former airfield. I'll let the picture boards tell the story.                                            

Rosehearty Bombing Range

Rosehearty is just along the coast from Fraserburgh in Aberdeenshire and was the site of an offshore RAF bombing range from the 1950s. in 1994 a purpose built observation tower was erected at a reported cost of £750,000. It was designed to be bombproof to the degree that the structure, including windows, would resist the blast from a 2,000lb bomb. However, just 6 years later the range ceased operations and the tower was sold, seemingly for just 10% of the cost, and converted in to a private residence.
