Hunter WB188

This was the prototype Hawker Hunter although it was subsequently upgraded to become the sole MK 3 in which guise it broke the air speed record. After retirement and a stint or two as a gate guardian it was acquired by RAFM Cosford from where it was loaned to the Tangmere Aviation Museum, Tangmere having been where tye aircraft took off from when breaking the air speed record. Last year the RAFM gifted rge aircraft to the museum which should sage guard its future.
