Douglas R4D

The R4D is basically a navlised version of the DC3/Dakota. This example 'Ready 4 Duty' is on a victory tour of Europe from America. It is based at Duxford and whilst I should catch it a couple more times over the coming weeks today was my first sighting. I had hoped to see it fly but after it taxied out to the runway threshhold it sat for a while before returning to its hardstanding apparently because a crosswind wa a little too strong. Lets hope for better at Shuttleworth at the end of the month.
